The Computer Center, along with the folks in the library and the CAL, are introducing a new printing system that should make life easier and improve our carbon footprint by severely cutting down on printing waste. The systems is called GoPrint and it is a way to confirm that you sent a print job and is shown to drastically cut down on unwanted print jobs.

Computer Center Consultant Chris Harvey has been named Evergreen’s Student Employee of the Year. He received a certificate on April 16 in the CAB by the Student Employment Office in honor of April being Student Employee Appreciation Month.

Chris has worked in the Computer Center since 2005 and has logged more than 3000 hours. He is well-known for his commitment to the job and his willingness to go to great lengths in solving student problems with technology. Please congratulate Chris when you see him at the front desk.

Microsoft (TM) released the newest version of its office productivity software this year – Office 2007. This new version of Office by default writes files that are incompatible with older versions of the software. If you have purchased a new computer or otherwise upgraded to Office (or Word) 2007 then you are likely creating files in this new format.
