Travel at Evergreen
Hi everyone! So today I am returning to West Virginia for a short time, and I thought I would take this opportunity to highlight how easy it is for students who are not from the area to either come check out the school or out of state students to get to and from Olympia. Currently, I’m sitting at SEA/TAC watching all the lovely people stroll by. Since I don’t have a car, traveling always requires some coordination, but thankfully, there are several options for me to get to and from where I need to be in a timely fashion.
Though it is indeed possible to take a bus from Olympia to the SEA/TAC airport, I prefer not to. Personally, I would love to take the bus, but I also like my sleep. It requires some more coordination than the other options, so make sure to check the times and schedules so you get the most accurate schedules. If you are not a long-distance bus person, like myself (I LOVE the Intercity-Transit system in Olympia), then there are fortunately other options.
Thankfully, Olympia has access to inexpensive, efficient shuttle services that are great ways to get to the airport. This morning, for example, I called upon the Capitol Aeroporter Shuttle Services to get me here on time. They do one way trips as well as round-trip services. Every time that I use them, I opt for the shared ride van service which puts me in a van with a bunch of other people. It is so much fun to meet new people and talk about traveling with them!
On Sunday, when I return, I will be greeted at the airport by one of my friends who has thankfully volunteered to bring me home. As always, I never count on this option being available, though it usually is. I have several friends that have cars and many times they are more than happy to provide me with transportation to/from the airport. The reason I rode the airport shuttle this morning was because I felt so bad about asking someone to drive me at 4:00am! Hopefully, this information will make your trip operate easier. Since so many students are interested in visiting in these last few months before some very important decisions need to be made, I thought I’d let you know about some of travel options. Have a good one!
