Sasquatch!
Hi there everyone! Its been a while since I’ve written a post, mostly because I’ve been totally swamped with my schoolwork and whatnot, but I thought this might a good opportunity for me to a)take a break from my schoolwork and b)get back in touch with you! There has been some incredible weather over the past month or so, and I hope that you are all as excited about summer as I am.
First, last weekend, as some of you may know, was the weekend of Sasquatch! Music Festival. It was a blast! A friend of mine from the east coast came out to visit me and we were camping for 4 days along with 2 other people. I got incredibly tan, ate a lot of hot dogs, and saw some truly incredible music, much of it new. Some of my new favorites are Tune Yards, Alabama Shakes, Cloud Cult, Trampled by Turtles, and Beats Antique. It was also great to get to see some of my older favorites, like The Shins, Beirut, Pretty Lights, Metric, Childish Gambino, and my personal number one, JACK WHITE! Some other great people were Bon Iver, Beck, and Feed Me.
In addition to this beautiful experience was that I got to go with a bunch of my fellow Greeners! We met up with a bunch of other people from Evergreen as well: its a very popular festival, and if you can swing the cash (I usually start saving right about now…seriously) then its totally worth it, and lots of Greeners go. Actually, one of the people I went with was one of my closest friends when I lived in the dorms my freshman year. I think that the fact that I was able to plan all of this out with people who I am really close with and met through Evergreen was a wonderful way to expand some of those friendships.
