I cannot for the life of me, distinguish between the personal stories told in ‘Dark Blue Suit’ and the historical context that was provided. Well, I guess I could. But it’d be strange, I think. The story was told in way where I felt like anyone could be anyone from that time and age. People weren’t just the specific people they were named, they were also all the attributes and characteristics of everyone like them. The idea of individuals as just another one of ‘everyone’ – ‘everyone’ from here or there wanted to do this or that, ‘everyone’ ended up being this or that way, ‘everyone’ was something or other, and occasionally something else. This was the carrier of the book. In a vague sense, I knew everything there was to know about ‘everyone.’
