I just bought my tickets to see Hayao Miyazaki’s Howl’s Moving Castle on the big screen later this month.  A movie theater here in town has been screening one Miyazaki movie a month and I’ve been lucky enough to see all of them.  The final film will be Howl’s Moving Castle, a movie I adore.  One thing I’ve always appreciated about Miyazaki’s films are the beautiful scores by Joe Hisaishi.  Their partnership reminds me of Fellini and Nino Rota.  It’s impossible for me to separate that music from the image.  They’re on in the same.  They’re completely intertwined in my head and are made all the better for it.  Sit back and enjoy the work of Joe Hisaishi.
