Week five proved to be very informative and enlightening through class discussions and our Wednesday workshop. I can honestly say that the peer review portion, prior to class, was weighing heavily upon me. No one likes to be critiqued, especially when you know it is only a First Shitty Draft.” In my heart I new that it lacked the flow that I had intended. It was jumping all around until the end and I seemed to let go a little and it wasn’t so stiff.
I searched my soul to try and discover what “Home” was for me. Many things rushed into my thoughts, but just did not hit the mark. I knew it would develop eventually. Back to the workshop, I found it so informative and interesting. Some were able to bare their hearts and souls while defining their “Home.” Just knowing that we are all in this together made me feel more at ease. The constructive criticism was very helpful in my re-evaluation of the direction I wanted to go and ways in which I could develop it.
The Debut was the movie that we watched. Luckily Amazon Prime had it in its lineup so I was able to finish it. This movie had a lot of different issues that were coming to the forefront. There were traditional conflicts, generational conflicts and plenty of conflicts. One of the major being control of others and how they should live their lives. Generations grow and develop and due to the changing times desires and goal change. I could write a great deal more about this, but instead I will incorporate it into my paper. It has many correlations to my topic.
