Annotated Bibliography

This weekend I plan to visit the library to find sources so that I can begin my research and write my annotated bibliography. I want to explore the history and culture behind Japanese music. Furthermore, I want to look at how Japanese music has been influenced by American music, and vice versa. For example, rock music was born in America, but j-rock is a very Japanese version of that sound. This type of cultural exchange of musical ideas and aesthetics is something I would like to look deeper into. I have only written an annotated bibliography maybe once or twice before, so initially I had some questions about the process. Clearly I’m not going to be able to read five whole books by Tuesday, so how do I summarize something I’ve only started reading? How do I explain my usage of a source in a paper I have yet to write? Thankfully my teacher helped clear up these confusions and I am ready to begin my research process.
