Lucy Liu will receive her star on May 1st!
She is the second Asian American woman to receive a star. She was also the first Asian American to host SNL!
This news is so exciting and so incredibly deserving not only for Lucy, but the entire Asian American population.
I can’t help but feel upset though, as she is only the second Asian American woman to receive this honor. Racism in Hollywood is stemmed so incredibly deep. 
Hopefully there will be many Asian Americans after Lucy.
This is a step in the right direction that will pave the way for others.
