Project Update #3

Potential resources:

  1. The film Enter the Dragon. (1973)  My project is analyzing this film in particular.
  2. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070034/ IMDB is a great source for movies and I find the trivia section useful when researching a particular movie.
  3. The book, Theorizing Bruce Lee: Film-fantasy-fighting-philosphy. This book will be useful as Bruce Lee’s fighting in film is a quintessential aspect of his career.
  4. A Dragon Lives Here exhibit at the Wing Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific American Experience.I will attend the museum to get a tangible sense of Bruce Lee’s career.
  5. https://www.wingluke.org/single-exhibit/?mep_event=129  I will be utilizing both the museum site to aid in my trip to the museum.
  6. The film, Bruce Lee: A Warrior’s Journey. (2000) This film will be useful as it contains archival footage.
  7. The film, I Am Bruce Lee. (2012) I think it would be beneficial for me to hear others opinions of Bruce Lee’s legacy as this film contains interviews.
  8. The book,Tao of Jeet Kune Do. Written by Bruce Lee, this book explores his fighting style.
  9. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/projects/cp/obituaries/archives/bruce-lee As this site discusses Enter the Dragon.
  10. The book, Beyond Bruce Lee chasing the Dragon through film, philosophy and popular culture. This book will be useful as it discusses Bruce Lee’s legacy on the greater scale of popular culture.

    It is great that your sources have a focus on Bruce Lee. But it would not be too difficult to add in Jackie Chan as a point of comparison for famous Chinese martial artists. There can be more to to talk about when encompassing the world of martial arts in film. Jet Li is also another figure that I haven’t heard mentioned in class yet but is another martial arts film star.
