D&R: I. M. Pei and the Asian-American Experience

https://www.newyorker.com/news/daily-comment/i-m-pei-and-the-asian-american-experience

Ieoh Ming Pei, the famous architect passed away on May 16 2019 at the age of 102. He was a Chinese American and was hired in 1984 to construct the famous entrance to the Louvre Museum in Paris.

“I. M. Pei wasn’t famous because he was a good architect among Asian-American architects. He was famous because he was a great architect who happened to be Asian-American.”

Here is me at the Louvre. The architecture is a work of art in itself.

I didn’t know that that entrance was constructed by an Asian American architect. Good to know about the achievement of Asian American out of America! Also, I was missing that architecture is also one of the cultural things. It reminds me of that Japanese traditional architecture is recently spreading here. I’m glad that you shared this topic! And nice picture!
