MET Gala 2019: The Hottests Looks From the Pink Carpet

The MET Gala happened May 6, 2019. This high profile event where only A-list celebrities and personalities are invited to takes place in new york and this year the theme was camp. The attendees like every other year had to dress to the theme. There were over 80 stars who walked the pink carpet and made the cover of The New York Times. Amongst those stars was a small but powerful and memorable set of powerful Asian women that were studded in silver and gold from head to toe. Below

Priyanka Chopra: Looking stunning in Dior Haute. Perfect for this years MET Gala theme; Camp.

Gemma Chan: Rocking a beautiful headpiece that had the paparazzi gasping and all of social media ready to risk it all. Wearing $88 dollar makeup pallet from Luxe, she never looked better!

Constance Wu: The “Crazy Rich Asians” superstar arriving at the pink carpet right after James Charles’ total fail. Ms. Wu did not fail to woo the carpet as she struts her way in a gorgeous custom Marchesa dress by no other than famous designer Ms. Georgia Chapman.

Mindy Kaling: The genius mind behind the dramedy hit The Mindy Project, and Ocean’s 8 lead star hits the pink carpet in Prada. Looking stunning with a front lace blonde wig that matches her gold plated dress.

Akwafina (Nora Lum): Oceans 8 lead star takes the pink carpet in a gold tiered Altuzarra frock that did not go unnoticed. This was the first time the 29-year old movie star was invited to the MET Gala and she, unlike many others stuck to the theme of the event.

We surely cannot wait for next years MET Gala theme!

yes! it blows my mind that out of over 180 attendees there was only 8 (3 not seen on this post) Asian women! Ridiculous!

This is great that they made it, though some more at the gala would have been nice.

What a perfect thing to discuss! I know I was waiting for instagram posts of everyones looks! It would be cool to look through the decades to see the Asian American representation!

I can appreciate the increase of representation no matter the topic but celebrity fashion has always astounded me. Considering the theme was extravagance (gold/silver clad), it’s interesting seeing how they’ve adapted to the changing times and perhaps serve to open the doors for future actors.
