thanksgiving break work

Posted by on November 24, 2018

at this point in my project i’m not only battling severe anxiety but also some depression. I’m finding it hard to even make myself paint and it just seems like no matter what i do the paintings don’t look right and i don’t have the energy to try and go back in and fix them.

my personal research is getting hindered by my lack of motivation to do anything. I feel like i’m going to end up with two paintings that look like shit.

Hi Mo, I wish you had come to see me before break. You are giving up because you are afraid they are failing because they wrinkled or are not coming out the way you imagined. I am asking you to find a bridge through that fear. Figure a way to push through. So what if they “look like shit?” What matters is the experimentation, the thinking, the inquiry. Let them teach you back. Go back to artist mentors to get excited about paint and content. Get excited by their shit.
