LA GRANDE, Ore. – Proving that they can take care of business in the classroom as well as on the court, three Geoducks have been honored as Bank of the Cascades Academic All-CCC, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.
Senior Travis Wagner (Federal Way, Wash./Green River CC) was the lone men’s basketball player recognized for the Geoducks, earning honors in pre-medicine. On the court, he is currently sixth in CCC in three-point field goals made, averaging 2.4 per contest.
Senior forward Maddie Graves (Spokane, Wash./Mead HS) was one of two women honored for Evergreen. With an academic focus on psychology and education, she is averaging 10.3 minutes per game on floor for the Geoducks, putting up an average of 2.3 ppg off the bench.
Junior guard Sammi Clark (Monroe, Wash./Edmonds CC) was the other Geoduck woman honored by the conference after earning honors in psychology and education. She is fifth in the CCC in assists with 4.2 per game and sixth in assist/turnover ratio at 1.5 as Evergreen’s starting point guard.
To earn recognition as a CCC scholar-athlete, a student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 and sophomore standing.
