OLYMPIA, Wash.  –  After 22nd-ranked Rocky Mountain struck first, the Evergreen Geoducks evened it up as the two teams battled for 110 minutes before settling for a 1-1 tie in a non-conference men’s soccer match on Saturday afternoon in Olympia, Wash.

The Battlin’ Bears (3-0-1) opened up the scoring in the 16th minute as Tanner Wolff unleashed an absolute bullet for 30 yards out that shot into the net to put Rocky up 1-0.

The Geoducks (1-0-1) evened it up a little over 10 minutes later as Kodey Eley (Federal Way, Wash./Federal Way HS) fed in a ball to the box and Willie Spurr (Seattle, Wash./Roosevelt HS) got a boot on it to finish from about five yards out.

Both teams continued to push over the remainder of the first half and into the second half but strong play by the keepers led to overtime.  Each team had a solo shot in each of the overtimes but only one found the frame and Rocky keeper Joachin Soderstrom made his sixth save of the day to preserve the tie.

Collin Harlow (Kirkland, Wash./Juanita HS/Shoreline CC) played all 110 minutes for Evergreen, allowing one goal on 13 shots with four saves.

The match also saw its share of cautions as eight total cards were shown, including a second yellow that resulted in a red for Rocky defender Ronaldo Goncalves in the 86th minute.

Evergreen will next play on Sep. 8 when they make the trip north to Parkland, Wash. to take on Pacific Lutheran.  Game time with the Lutes is set for 2:30 p.m.
