After opening the match fairly evenly, the Cavaliers (6-2, 1-0 CCC) used a 7-2 run to pull ahead. Concordia came out strong in the second set to take the early lead and the Geoducks just couldn’t find a way back in it. The Cavs built a double-digit lead at 19-9 and it proved too much for Evergreen as CU earned the second set win easily, 25-13.
The third set was tight most of the way as neither team built much of the lead.
