About Me
Hello, hello! My name is Steven Chen and I am starting my second year here at Evergreen. I really like film and video, environmental studies, cultural studies, cars, football (Go Packers!), playing card games, and delicious food. I grew up Vancouver, Washington, USA but now I am living in the west side of Olympia with 4 other roommates (including fellow ambassador Cameron) after spending all of last year on the 5th floor of A dorm.
My junior year of high school I spent in Denmark and speak a little bit of Danish still. It was such an awesome experience that I plan on doing some more studying abroad during my time at Evergreen. This year I’m taking Ready Camera 1 which is TV history and then spending time in the new CCAM studio learning about and using all of the equipment, acting, directing, crewing, doing workshops on makeup and set design and screen writing and hopefully in the spring producing a weekly show.
I’m always up to talk to people personally so if you have any questions about anything feel free to find me on campus or shoot me a comment on this blog!

Hi Steven! My name is Sandy, and I took an Evergreen Campus tour (given by you) in February. Although I’m usually prompt in my thank-you notes, the hustle and bustle of senior year seems to have taken its toll on me. Plus, I didn’t get a chance to write down any emails–Oops! I just wanted to say thank you SO much! I loved the school and I am very excited to explore and pursue my academic interests at such a diverse place in the upcoming year. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences and time with us, it was greatly appreciated.
Sending good thoughts your way.

Sandy, don’t feel bad about not saying thank you until now; I took a tour from Steven last April and I never said Thank You until now.
Steven, I wanted to ask you how much of a problem drop-outs are freshman year. Are there a lot of people who are not cut out for Evergreen crashing and burning? Do they drag down other students? It seems like there is a high rate of attrition but maybe it’s not that noticeable?
Anyways, thanks for being a good tour guide and thanks in advance for any perspective you can give me.
Peace.

Steven. So I ran Across your Blog and maybe you can help me.I am looking for a film maker to do a documentary on a Veggie Burning Bus, All from setting the Bus up on veggie oil, Bootlegging oil, Driving across the country informing people about different fuels. You think you might know someone who would tackle this project on? Thanks Bill in Olympia.
