Clean Dirt is a Social Purpose Corporation.

We use the 3P business model and permaculture philosophy to turn locally sourced compost into nutrient dense, affordable soil.

Social Purpose Corporations are a growing business model originally formed in Washington, United States. Also known as B-corporations outside Washington, SPC’s  are created with the three P’s in mind. This means they do not only focus on Profit, but also People and the Planet. First, Clean Dirt focuses on the planet by modeling a “permaculture” philosophy.  We strive to minimize and utilize waste as well as let natural life cycles work its magic.  In addition, our soil isn’t only labeled organic, but forgoes chemical additives and factory farm byproducts. Second, we prioritize people by maintaining an affordable price, and treating our employees with respect. Finally, profit is important for sustainability and by creating an efficient production process, we help keep manufacturing costs low. Above all, by synergizing these components of our process we are able to offer cheaper, nutrient dense, sustainably sound and organic soil for your farm or garden.

Who are the roots of Clean Dirt?

Our four person team has a large background in soil science, management, human resources, and research and organization. This equates to not only subject-matter expertise but overall ability to innovate and build industry connections.

Cody

He is studying sustainability, economics, and business and strives to push cutting edge technologies and methods to support sustainability. He co-founded Clean Dirt to bring these technologies to his community. In addition, he is a life-long learner, always growing and striving to know more. Connor

Connor Flynn (CEO) has spent 10 years in the agriculture industry, bringing forth deep knowledge in soil science. He has spent many years developing soil and researching organic methods from all over the world. His research has lead to the development of Clean Dirt SPC’s unique products with a main focus on sustainable low tech methods. Connor’s dream is to expand Clean Dirt’s methodology into localized permaculture farms that fulfill the needs of hobbyists and farmers around the world.

Courtney

Courtney (CFO) has much experience working in the customer service industry and in agriculture. Through this she has learned how to help improve the quality of people and the planet . She applies much of the permaculture philosophy to her moral constitutions and looks for everyday opportunities to recycle our limited resources and help them become renewable. She believes the energy you put in is the energy you get out. As a result, she co-founded Clean Dirt to help promote these beliefs. Studying business at Evergreen has helped her understand what it means and how to operate a social purpose corporation.

Jason

Jason Byrd (COO) spent his professional career in the United States Air Force and retired in 2015. After retiring he wanted to focus on a new career in Human Resources. His primary focus is on Human Relations between the employee and employer job applications. While Jason’s knowledge is limited in environmental technologies he is highly skilled in problem solving and streamlining processes.
