How we make our soil truly organic & affordable:
Description of our product:
Clean Dirt is an organic, sustainable soil company with new way to produce soil by turning waste into wonder. We build our soil with byproducts from wild game and fishery processors, community composts, recycling units and others green “waste” sources. Through this, we help reduce and limit the negative impact on our planet. By sourcing local waste, we help manage community waste and bring consumers nutrient dense soil at an affordable price.
Production Process (Collection):
First we start accumulating compost sources through hunters, fisheries, and local community composts (organic farms, cafes, recycling facilities, domestic composts, etc.) We give customers the option to drop off waste, or using our truck, we pickup waste from the sources. For domestic waste pickup, customers can leave waste out for pickup with the incentive of discounts and even more affordable prices. The more compost the customer provides, more discounting they get. After accumulating composts, it is brought to our facility and we then dry the byproducts and anything containing moisture by kilning. This expedites the decomposition process without killing the microbial spores.
Decomposition:
We next make a liquid serum using nearby forest humus & leaf mold, potatoes, and sea salt as a food source. This sits in a 650 gallon tank for 72 hours. As soon as the liquid serum and compost components are combined, the spores proliferate, retaining the soil’s biodiversity. After 3-5 months for the decomposition process we add a medium of broken down and cleaned coconut husks as well as pumice to help with drainage. This prevents soil erosion and nutrient run-off, optimizing plant uptake while providing oxygen for its roots.
Packing & Storing
Once the soil is complete we weigh it in 1.5 or 3 cubic feet bags. We label our bags with our name, logo, ingredient list and contact information. Once the bags are sealed we load them on our semi truck for delivery or offer in store pickup. This is all done in our facility that is comprised of a carport (for the mixing of components) and a warehouse for the storage (3-5 month composting process).
Delivery:
We will pick up all waste from providers and bring it to our facility for sorting. Once the product is decomposed we will start distribution. Our product will be available at local gardening stores, grow stores, delivery for larger quantities within a 60 mile radius, and in-house pickup. With every order we will monitor our success by including a link to report their experience as well as ways to improve our service. We will provide a person-to-person contact for any further customer assistance.
