This week included:
- flower harvest
- weeding of the perennial bed, with focus on getting the dock, dandelions and buttercup out of the lilies and **need to ask what the other perennial is.
- Friday & Saturday flower booth set-up during arts walk/procession of the species
- mulching the roses
This week was a little bit funky because I got sick and only made it to the farm one day. However, this gave me an opportunity to listen to a couple of podcasts about flower farmers.
I have been feeling scattered with the structure of my project – like the things I am doing aren’t forming a cohesive product. After meeting with Sarah on Wednesday I felt a lot better about this. She explained a learning model in the form of a leaf – one usually starts by exploring a broad range of concepts before getting to a point to put more focus into. Because flowers are still so new to me, I could rather read and go in any and all directions I feel pulled, with the option to create an annotated bibliography.
