The trip across county to get some of last years hay, opened to a surprise.  A Barn Owl nest hidden behind a bale.  Research on the appropriate Barn Owl box was initiated.  I found a 6-page pdf from Kentucky and a 31-page pdf from another source. I’m hoping to add some information to this post throughout the week.  The consumption of small rodents is huge, keeping the mice and rat population under control.

Mt goals are to be able to post on a blog.  Even though Barn Owls are not part of aquaponics, they are a very important part of the environment.  Keeping the rodent population in check is equally beneficial as the bats eating the misquotes.

The goal this week is to make Barn Owl boxes for this family of owls in the hay.  They should move into the box after it is installed.  The owls chose this barn, and the corner they like, thus the box will be installed within feet of the hay stack.
