Introduction

In January of 2015, Melissa Moffett (humanities teacher) took a group of 14 students from Tacoma School of the Arts (TSOTA) with two chaperons, Bhupal Poudel and myself, Josolynn Jones to Nepal. This was for a service and studies tour which I have also had the opportunity to experience as a student in my senior year at TSOTA in 2011 to Laos and Cambodia. This blog is dedicated to documenting our journey to Nepal as well as outlining the aspects I’ve learned from my personal studies of the education system there. I currently attend The Evergreen State College as a freshman studying film and education so elements from those learning’s will also be portrayed.

Below is a video about the TSOTA Service and Studies Tour in January of 2015 but throughout this blog there are a plethora of blogs from not only myself, but the students as well, along with letters that they have written. It’s been rather amazing to experience this as a chaperon when I was once in the place of these students, I hope you find our experiences as eye-opening as I do. Enjoy!
