Now that the cartoon is properly lip-synced I feel much more confident in pitching to adult swim. Right now we are adding some elements to the dungeon. But, here are some samples of the revisions we have made.

This pic shows how Xarfraz’s note with his mission turned into a mini alien computer.

So, we decided to take a short break from FSU because our heads are spinning. For the next Trance TV episode (to air in June) will be directed by Freddy Dobler – this way I can spend more time on FSU – he seems to be pretty exciting about doing it. I basically have some lip syncing to finish off, and then a HUGE list of details to touch up. We will fix some transitions, fill some holes, and change some bits of the soundtrack. We will be keeping a positive attitude - It would be nice to have fun for these last few weeks. I will post one last Drug Purse music video, this song is called “Now I Can Begin”. I ran this video through After-Effects and experimented with some hardcore echo effects. I really love how this video flows with the music. Remember to hit “High Quality”

So, like Ive said before. Chandra and I have been animating non-stop everyday. Of course, I have to take breaks where I either shut my eyes or look at something that’s not a screen. It’s also important to do streches and body excersizes that not only keeps you in good form, but helps give you an idea of how bodies can move. But, no, I spend a lot of the day sitting in a chair and working on FSU. My wrist really sarted to ache during Spring break, so I took care of that by getting one of these.

No more wrist pain! I recommend getting one of these if your drawing tool happens to be your mouse.

Here is a look at some animation from scene 2b. Any thoughts or suggestions about ANYTHING is appreciatted.

I finished episode 3 of Trance TV an entire month ahead of it’s air date. So, I haven’t been working on the show at all. The local psychedelic rock back, The Drug Purse, is scheduled to perform on April 14th, for episode 4.

I have been using all of my time for FSU. Animating, drawing, soundtracking, voice acting, ALL THINGS happen on many levels everyday for the next 10 weeks. Last quarter was tough, but this quarter is going to be even more intense. More soon.

OK!

So again, things I should have realized 3 months ago are being realized now. HEY EVERYONE, when doing voice work, it’s best to use a condenser microphone! Really, in a lot of ways it’s much better. Condenser microphones are electronic based and have low-noise. With a pop filter for P’s and S’s, you’re pretty much set to go. I checked out all of the music stores in town to see what they had to offer for condenser mics. Each store had their own specialty brands, but the bigger stores had bigger selections. Music 6000, on the eastside, is selling this super cheap Behringer condenser microphone that is strictly USB interface which is very convenient when recording on computer, although no XLR means I couldn’t use it with a Marantz or analog recorder. It was on sale for $60 which is the cheapest condenser mic in town (as far as I know). The man at the front said it was cheap because it’s only USB and is for basic vocals (think podcast) and some musical instruments. Most expensive condenser microphones (upwards of $6000) should be able to record all ranges of instruments and voices with professional quality. The set-up I have now totally works for me and my needs, but in the future I may want to consider getting a more expensive condenser mic. I will be using it for ADR, which includes the new voice for Xarfraz, additional stuff for Doug, Xylonian #1, and extras. I am a little worried that the voice recordings may be too different, and in that case, I will use the same microphone I used to record everyone else’s voices (which was the Shure SM-58 with the Marantz). But I will be using this mic set up for all voice-over work and future projects.
