The Evergreen State College seeks to create a pool of adjunct faculty able to teach courses and programs on the Olympia campus. Courses in our evening and weekend curriculum are typically 2, 4, or 6 quarter hours while programs are typically 8 credits. Specific areas of interest to the College include the following:
• 2D and 3D Art
• Business and non-profit administration
• Management, including Human Resources Management
• Computer Science
• Music theory and performance

These are adjunct faculty positions and are not eligible for continuing appointment. All requirements for these positions must be completed at the time of hire. We do not offer relocation expenses for our adjunct faculty positions.

The Evergreen State College offers full-time programs during the day and courses and half-time programs during evening hours and on weekends (EWS). The EWS curriculum provides opportunities for schedule-bound students and to supplement the full-time, daytime curriculum. Programs are the interdisciplinary coursework that form the core of Evergreen’s curriculum. In Evening and Weekend Studies, a variety of 8 and 12-credit programs are offered. Many of them are team-taught. Programs may last one, two or even three quarters, building on themes developed in previous quarters. Courses are more narrowly focused. There are 2 and 4-credit courses available and occasional 6-credit offerings. Courses are typically taught by one faculty member. Many students take courses to complement the interdisciplinary programs described above or in combination with individual study options.
