…and we’re off!

So, it is with great excitement that I am here to announce a brand new series from the creators of COOLYMPIA!

For the next two quarters, Sorrelle, Sean and I will be working on the development of a new series called Film School University. This animated series is based on the collective experiences we’ve had as media students for the several years, and borrows from the personalities and mishaps associated with a film school education. They say it’s best to write what you know, and there’s nothing we know more about than the frustrations of being media students, so it seemed like a perfect fit.

We’re working on fine tuning our treatment, and will be posting it on our new Blogweb, SLUG ON A RUG. At Sally’s suggestion, we created a new title to represent this collaboration (and to distinguish it from our work in children’s media, as this is considered an adult program). SLUG ON A RUG Productions was mutually agreed upon after many failed attempts at being clever (which is to say that most of the names we created had already been taken by other companies before us). The name comes from a video featured in an episode of COOLYMPIA, wherein we see a slug traveling across a rug (filmed at Sean’s place). In many ways it seems appropriate to our approach as a collaborative: like a slug, we execute our projects through long bouts of steady work, with a focus on the journey itself rather than the end product.

We also possess a tremendous fear of salt.
