When we first got off the train from the airport, we were welcomed to walk through an urban garden in Paris. This small vegetable production was followed by 10X as many plots of various roses that all smelled wonderful.
The organization was called “Agricool” and though I could not fully read the signs with my limited French, I did some research later to find out that it is a startup business designed to teach people how to grow food with limited space in cities. Their mission also includes providing affordable and organic food. They started by growing pesticide-free strawberries in a redesigned shipping container and continue to educate people on the ease of growing their own food.
It was really cool to see as the first thing in Paris.
