About Me

Hi everyone!  I am the Assistant Director of the MES program, and I am here to help all prospective, new, and current MES students.  For anyone with questions about the program, I am the first point of contact. Please see my contact info on the right-hand side!

I’ve worked for MES since March 2010 and love meeting and working with people who are environmental leaders (or future environmental leaders) . There is a very dynamic environmental professional community in the Olympia area, which makes MES a great learning opportunity for graduate students.

I am originally from NW Oregon, but I have lived in London; Sydney; New Zealand, Sitka, AK; a ship that sailed around the world; and Arcata, California.  I received my Bachelor’s degree from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon in Mathematics and Literature and my Master of Education in College Student Services Administration at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon.

My interests in environmental studies include sustainable transportation and local food systems – I love the Oly Farmer’s Market!  I try to bike to work or ride the bus every day, and my other interests include rowing in Budd Inlet, soccer, softball, hiking, reading, listening to live music, and traveling. I’ve been to all seven continents and am heading to Sri Lanka in summer 2012 to help build houses for Habitat for Humanity.
