About Me

Hello All!

I am thrilled to have recently taken the position as Program Assistant for the Masters of Environmental Studies.  I am also loving being a first year MES student — the fall quarter has flown by!

A little about me and my background: I just moved to Olympia from my hometown in Arkansas where I received by B.S. in Environmental Biology in Summer 2009.  During my undergraduate degree I became involved in research surrounding biofuel production and spent most of my extracurricular time running the campus environmental coalition.  I spent my summers out of state at field marine science centers, and heard about Evergreen when I spent the summer at Friday Harbor Laboratories on San Juan Island, WA.  This last year I completed an AmeriCorps position in environmental education.

I have developed many interests from these experiences and cannot wait to see where my work in the MES program will lead me.  If anyone ever wants a student’s perspective on MES let me know!
