Program Description
Narrative:
For this SOS: in-program ILC the student will be enrolled in an international permaculture training program on Maui. The student will treat this training as a field study and build on it as part of an in-program ILC with the SOS: Food and Agriculture. The student will maintain an ePortfolio that will include weekly reflections, a blog, a photo gallery (instagram), and bibliography. Particular components of the permaculture training will include: Permaculture Design and Regenerative Agriculture, Climate Science Adaption Strategies, Integrated Appropriate Technologies, Traditional Hawai’ian Farming, Aquaponics and Aquaculture, and Tropical Agroforestry. Required reading includes the text Introduction to Permaculture- by Bill Mollison.
