The 2010-2011 Evergreen Men’s Basketball team will open the season with the annual alumni scrimmage October 30th and a 3-game homestand, before heading on the road for eight straight games. The Geoducks return two starters (Tyrell Dixon and Josh Troyer) and tipoff Cascade Collegiate Conference play December 3 at Eastern Oregon University.
The schedule features a trio of games against NCAA DII programs and plenty of travel. With road trips to Denver, CO and Lewiston, ID, first-year Head Coach Arvin Mosley, Jr is excited about the challenges the schedule presents.
“Our schedule is going to serve us well in preparing to compete in the Cascade Conference; riding on a bus for seven hours to Lewis – Clark State to play games on Friday and Saturday is comparable to our trip to Southern Oregon. Also, spending time together on the road, whether in the plane or hotel, will help us get to know each other better as we head into league play.”
The Evergreen men’s basketball schedule is highlighted by games against cross-town opponent Saint Martins University, 2 games against local NCAA DIII teams Pacific Lutheran University and University of Puget Sound of Tacoma, and a 2-game road trip to Denver to face national powerhouses Metro State and Colorado School of Mines.
The conference home opener is December 10th against Corban. For the first half of conference play the Evergreen men will play at 5:30 pm followed by the women at 7:30 pm. In the second half of conference play the teams will swap times and the men will play at 7:30 pm and the women at 5:30 pm.
