OLYMPIA, Wash. – Basketball players around Olympia will be in for quite a treat on November 5 as nationally-renowned trainer Alan Stein will be conducting one of his Cutting Edge Reaction, Quickness and Agility Clinics at CRC Gymnasium on the campus of The Evergreen State College.
Stein, who has worked with many NBA players including South Sound products Isaiah Thomas and Avery Bradley, is one of the top basketball-specific strength and conditioning coaches worldwide. He works as a performance consultant for Nike Basketball as well as the head conditioning coach for the annual McDonald’s All-American game, the Jordan Brand All-American Classic, the NBA Player Association’s Top 100 Camp, and the Nike Skills Academies. He has also worked camps with Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Steve Nash, Chris Paul, Paul Pierce, Vince Carter, Deron Williams, Kevin Durant and Amar’e Stoudemire.
“I worked with Stein when I went to Brazil in High School. His intensity will push players to their limit and that’s how you get better,” said former Bellarmine Prep star and current Boston Celtic Avery Bradley. “He works with the best of the best. “
His November 5 clinic will feature: movement preparation; dynamic flexibility; reaction, quickness, agility & footwork; core strengthening exercises; basketball specific conditioning as well as motivational life lessons. The session is expected to last from 9:30am to 12:30pm and is open to both male and female players, ages 14 and up. The cost is $75 per player, $30 for a coach or $50 for a coaching staff.
