OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Evergreen State Men’s Soccer team earned their first win of the season today against visiting Corban University. The Geoducks took the lead early on and held off the warriors for a 2-1 victory, giving them their first conference win.
Dyson Fowler started things off with a quick touch into the goal off a wide cross from Chris Miller early in the first half.
In the sixty-seventh minute Albert Anabtawi put Evergreen up by two off a penalty kick resulting from a hand ball in the box. The Geoducks held on for the win despite a late game surge from Corban.
Gustavo Bermudez scored Corban’s goal in the 87th minute, unassisted.
Look for the Geoducks in another Cascade Conference matchup as they take on visiting Concordia University (Ore.) tomorrow at the Evergreen Soccer Fields at 3pm.
