OLYMPIA, Wash. – Tied with just under 9 minutes remaining in regulation, Concordia scored on a quick-touch indirect kick immediately after a foul whistle to pull ahead for the conference game win.
With the win, CU improved to 9-4-1 on the season and 8-3-0 in the CCC while the Geoducks dropped to 4-5-3 overall and 4-4-2 in league action.
Evergreen had just five shots, that included two over the first 45 minutes of play. The Geoducks able to took an early lead by a Corey Johnson score in the 17th minute.
Concordia was able to convert 2-of-8 attempts in the second period for the road win.
Jared Brace put the Cavaliers on the board in the 57th minute with an unassisted goal after retrieving a rebound deep inside the box. Brace would return to play a part in the team’s second goal with the pass to teammate Facundo Dipascuale en route to the game-winning goal in the 82nd minute of play.
CU’s keeper Claudio Lazar picked up the win after registering two saves in front of the net, Nathan Salveson stopped four attempts in the loss for the Geoducks.
Evergreen is on the road to play Northwest University (7-5-2, 5-5-2 CCC) in Kirkland, WA Saturday at 1:00 PM. NU defeated the #1 CCC Warner Pacific last night.
