PORTLAND, Ore. – After playing to a sixth-place finish in the Cascade Conference, the Evergreen Geoducks earned a four-pack of conference honors as a quartet of Geoducks were named All-Cascade Conference, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning.
Junior Brandon Wood (Coeur d’Alene, Idaho/North Idaho College) earned All-CCC Second Team honors in his first season at Evergreen, scoring three goals and assisting on two others, as he established himself as one of the top defenders in the conference. Also earning second team honors was junior midfielder George Bundy (Enumclaw, Wash./Enumclaw HS), who earned honors after scoring four goals and assisting on four others to lead Evergreen with 12 points on the season.
Freshman defender Caleb Phillips (Aberdeen, Wash./Aberdeen) earned honorable mention honors in his first season of collegiate soccer while senior forward Corey Johnson (Longview, Wash./Mark Morris HS) earned all-conference honors for the fourth straight season, earning honorable mention honors in 2011.
Concordia’s Facundo Dipascuale repeated as Player of the Year. Tanner French of Concordia and Tillermon Kroon of Corban shared Defensive Player of the Year while freshman Joel Pelton of Northwest was named Newcomer of the Year. Dan Birkey (Concordia), Gary McIntosh (Northwest) and Paul Meehan (Corban) were named Co-Coaches of the Year.
