when you get lost at an easy step

It’s really hard to get up to speed learning something in a group if you get stuck or lost right off the bat with something that ought to be really easy. Thus, this micro-class in Ruby. Gonna start over from scratch later. Much later.

Also, curiously enough, I’m having a hard time using the laptop on its own, because I keep wanting to touch the screen to navigate, like I would on my Asus Transformer. On top of that, it doesn’t help that I don’t yet know my way around terminal on mac.

Doesn’t help either that it’s the middle of the afternoon, which is not my best time to do anything.

Am reminded of one of my favorite Far Side cartoons from junior high: the boy in class raising his hand, with the caption: “Mr Osborne, my brain is full.” My eighth grade English teacher, who I loved, was Ms Osborne, and someone had given her a slightly altered copy of that comic. At the moment, my brain is full.

And then I googled the thing that I was completely stuck on, and there was the answer, and while I couldn’t follow exactly the directions, I could at least get the thing working.

You know what, a blogging tool is pretty much the last thing I want to try to build.
