February 9th marks the end of the Year of the Dragon and the beginning of the Year of the Snake in the Chinese Zodiac calendar. This coming weekend Evergreen will celebrate in advance with our annual Lunar New Year seminar. This annual event will be held in the Longhouse on Friday, Feb. 1st through the 3rd.

This is the 13th year that internationally acclaimed Teacher, Calligraphist, Philosopher, and Author Chunliang Al Huang returns to the Evergreen State College to help us welcome the new year. As in years past, he will demonstrate the art of calligraphy and lead the Tai Ji Seminar.
In anticipation of this weekend’s celebration, we’ve put together a selection of our favorite images from past Lunar New Year celebrations. This is an exciting and colorful event, and we hope you can make it!
