Sustainability in Prisons

Welcome to the first One Minute Evergreen of the 2012-13 academic year! One Minute Evergreen is a multimedia series about students, faculty, programs and general life here at Evergreen. If you know of something or someone who would make a good subject for a One Minute profile, please email bittles@evergreen.edu. Enjoy!

Inmates attend a monthly Sustainability in Prisons Project lecture by Anna Thurston at Stafford Creek Corrections Center in Aberdeen, WA on Thurs., Aug. 16, 2012.

This week, the Evergreen-affiliated Sustainability in Prisons Project made the news in the form of an article by the Associated Press. Newspapers from the Washington Post to the Detroit Free Press picked up the story on how Washington inmates are helping to raise endangered butterflies and frogs during their incarceration. Today, Photoland’s Shauna Bittle brings you a One-Minute Evergreen multimedia story about one of SPP’s other programs, a monthly lecture series on issues of sustainability coordinated by MES student Brittany Gallagher.   Check it our One Minute Evergreen Multimedia presentation!
