Summary: Through a series of time lapse photographs, we documented the thigmotropic movement of Hop (Humulus lupulus). We studied this movement of the plants through the pictures we took at The Evergreens State College’s Organic Farm. Originally, we thought we would document the germination of the plants on the farm. It wasn’t until one team member talked about how they found the spiral wrap growth of plants, like the pea plant, interesting. We decided on two plants at the farm that we believed at the time to be Hop and Morning Glory. It turned out that the Morning Glory was actually Bindweed and it was then that we realized that we were actually documenting the thigmortropic movement of the plants. Our investigation led to us to an understanding of the growth between each wraps and height over time.
