Hey, Greeners! My name is Reaz (pronounced ree-AHZ), and I’ve been the student publications advisor at Evergreen since January 2012. While my primary focus has been the Cooper Point Journal, I’m here to help any student organization that needs training and advice for using multimedia for publication and promotion.
What I can help you with:
- Layout & Design
- Graphic Illustration
- Photo Illustration
- Media Law & Ethics
Rather than creating materials for you (for instance, a flyer for promoting an event), my role is to give you the training necessary for you to harness your own abilities. Just set up an appointment with me, letting me know what kind of training you need. I’m happy to have one-on-one sessions as well as group sessions.
Office: CAB 332 in the back of the Cooper Point Journal newsroom
Phone: (360) 867-6078

Additionally, I highly recommend that you take advantage of an invaluable resource made available to Evergreen students, staff, and faculty by alumna Lynda Weinman (class of ’76). Lynda.com offers training on a wide range of things from multimedia to programming to business practices through easy-to-understand video tutorials that guide you through otherwise complex processes. You can set up a free account.
Finally, check out this blog from the CPJ’s associate advisor, Bob Herdlein. Bob brings a wealth of knowledge related to website development and other associated technologies.
