Brief

Work
I work as a software developer in the Scientific Database Lab (SciDB) on campus at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA.
The SciDB Lab works collaboratively with ecologists, forest managers, and statisticians to develop software which aids them in collecting, managing, synthesizing, and visualizing scientific data. I have worked on several projects at the SciDB lab, commonly focused on visualization, and data processing and conversion.
Education
I graduated from The Evergreen State College in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degree (BAS). During my three years at Evergreen, I studied Computer Science and Media and worked on a variety of projects in both disciplines.
During my first year at Evergreen, I took the Student Originated Software program, which combines theoretical studies with a real-world application component in which students work individually or in groups to design and implement software projects. My second year at Evergreen, I concentrated on media studies, enrolling in the program Mediaworks, which serves as an introduction to various forms of medai: film, video, and performace and installtion art. During my third and final year, I began my work in the SciDB Lab, working on ecology-related software and projects.
