Phyllis Lane, Dean of Student Academic and Support Services, and Elizabeth McHugh, Director of Counseling and Health Services, contributed to the recently published book, Transforming Undergraduate Education: Theory that Compels and Practices that Succeed edited by Donald Harward, President Emeritus of Bates College. The case study, An Enduring Experiment — The Evergreen State College, is featured in Part IV: Successful Models and Practices. This work stems from involvement in the Bringing Theory to Practice Project funded by AAC&U.
Laura Coghlan, Director of Institutional Research, shared results from Evergreen’s participation in the spring 2010 National Survey of Student Engagement on Tuesday, November 1, at the second Student Affairs Seminar of fall quarter. Participants had an opportunity to review the Institutional Research report, NSSE 2001-2010 Trends. NSSE assesses student engagement in educational practices that are associated with high levels of learning and development. Continue reading
