The Hiring Priorities (HP) DTF wrapped up the first phase of their work in late spring and developed a prioritized list of 16 faculty positions (for the Olympia daytime curriculum) that the College should hire. We will be recruiting for 10 lines in the upcoming academic year.
- Computer Science
- Comparative Religion
- Energy/Physics
- Biology (Anatomy and Physiology)
- Spanish Language and Literature
- Visual Arts 2D
- Business/Entrepreneurship
- EWS Math
- MPA (Tribal)
- MiT Science Ed (2 year visiting)
Of these, seven are in the Olympia daytime curriculum and come from the list the HP-DTF generated. The remaining three are lines for the graduate programs and EWS. The list recommended by the HP-DTF had Marine Science in position #6 however, a decision was made to postpone this hire until 2013-14 when both faculty with relevant subject expertise will be available for the hiring process.
Hiring Priorities DTF Complete Report
Thanks to the members of the HP-DTF for all of their hard work. They put in long hours, sifting through qualitative and quantitative data and some anecdotal evidence. While there’s still a long way to go to make up for lost ground, we’re finally on a positive trajectory.
