Purpose
The Evergreen State College can thrive only when all members of the community participate in the social contract, which prizes academic and interpersonal honesty, articulates our commitment to resolving differences with a strong will toward collaboration, and protects community values and individual rights. The Student Conduct Code articulates specific procedures and standards for upholding the values and aspirations articulated in the social contract. Specifically, the Code strives to support students who should be accountable for their decisions, expressions, and actions and who should protect each other from harm. Above all, the Code has been crafted in the spirit of education and compassion, with the aim of healing individuals and preserving our common interests.
