Sarah Clarke

Graduate Assistant, MES Program
The Evergreen State College

Passionate about science education for underserved audiences, Sarah supports the Sustainable Prisons Project in two important ways. With strong experience in environmental education and the restoration of local prairie and salmon habitat, she coordinates our monthly lecture series at the Washington Corrections Center for Women. Exploring the ties between personal and environmental health – from nutrition and purchasing habits to pharmaceutical dependency – the series will run from fall 2009 to spring 2010. Sarah also helps evaluate all of our educational programs and science projects in several prisons, working closely with Dr. Nadkarni and the consulting firm David Heil and Associates. Born in eastern Pennsylvania, she earned her bachelor’s degree in fine arts from Bennington College in Vermont and will complete a Master of Environmental Studies at Evergreen in fall 2010.
