Jeff Muse, M.S.
Project Manager
The Evergreen State College

Bees build their hives with glue-like propolis. We’ve got Jeff to hold ours together. Equal parts coach, wordsmith and entrepreneur, he loves the thrill of teamwork and, in the words of Dr. Nadkarni, “breathing life into ideas and turning vision into reality." From the Evergreen campus, Jeff coordinates our activities with correctional staff and inmates as well as faculty, graduate students, visiting scientists and community partners. With two decades in conservation non-profits and government agencies across the country, Jeff comes to us from northwest Washington, where he launched and directed a $12 million, LEED-certified environmental learning center in North Cascades National Park. He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from DePauw University in Indiana, his birthplace, and a master’s in ecology and education from the Audubon Expedition Institute at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Muse helps inmates and correctional staff play critical roles in public outreach, from hosting reporters and community leaders to writing letters to family members, entries for our blog and articles for scientific journals.
