Week 1! Let’s get it started in here…

During the first class, I presented my idea for my film about foster care and adoption. It seemed to be well-recieved, but there were few questions after my presentation. Not sure if this is due to the fact that I was one of the last to present and everyone was tired/zoned out or that people don’t know a lot about my subject so they don’t know what to ask about or there was little interest or what.

My project is going to be a mainly positive look at foster care. I’m not going to try and make it sound like everything is sunshine and rainbows – the system clearly has problems – but I want to point out its positive aspects. In doing so, I believe I will be presenting a message that will encourage more people to adopt, become a foster parent, or help foster kids in some way.

I still wasn’t sure as to whether my project would be on the more autobiographical side of things. Although I already had my first trip to the island planned out for the end of week 2, I wasn’t sure what parts of the film I was going to shoot just yet.

On Thursday, we chose our affinity groups. My groups IS AWESOME and consists of Victor, Margaritte, Finn, Amber, Nate, Kris, and Lane. Our faculty advisor is Beatriz.

On Friday I finished and turned in my Media Request Form.
