ILC

I will work at the Nisqually Community Tribal medicinal garden, harvesting and planting traditional plants to the Nisqually tribes. I also will learn all I can from Bridget Ray and Caitlin Krenn on cultural terroir, botany, and permaculture. I will work hands on in the garden three times a week for 20 hours. I will also read Wild Rose and Western Red Cedar as my text book for this project.  I expect to learn a lot about Nisqually cultural practices as well as make great connections with the people that work at the garden. I expect to learn a lot about specific plants local to the area and different permaculture practices. I expect my love for the outdoors and my connection to the land increase as I explore my passion which is being outside and being surrounded by other Indigenous culture.

I will learn about traditional and local plants to the Nisqually area, as well as plants that are medicinally healing. Working and cultivating at the garden, as well as listening to Caitlin Krenn, Carlin, and Grace. I will read books that Bridget has recommended to me: Wild Rose and Western Red Cedar & Feeding the People, Feeding the Spirit by Elise Krohn I will document the new plants I learn on the templeted wordpress.
I will learn local Nisqually cultural practices Learning from Cailtin Krenn and Carlin and Grace at the garden. I will document them again.
