My techno song is finished and mastered. It can also be heard on the audio page Yiiippie!! Im pretty proud of how it turned out considering I have not done techno before. It was fun.
Techno song
I’ve been working on a techno piece for Hybrid class. It was difficult to begin with because I have not really approached composing techno music with the intention of completing it before. The most difficult part was finding the right sounds for each aspect of the song such as the drums, rhythm element, secondary, and tertiary elements. Im really happy with how it has turned out so far after working on it so much. It will be mixed in 5.1 but I will upload a stereo version here soon.

School/ESMP/projects
It’s been awhile since my last post. “We are the Day” didnt work out too well yet. It still needs a lot of compositional work. Winter quarter began and everyone chose an artist to record for the ESMP ( Evergreen Student Music Project ). I chose a song called “Betting on Red” by Razors and Red Flags. We just recorded for three sessions this week and I am now in the mixing stages. With the mixed song due on Thursday it’s going to be tough finishing it up to my satisfaction. It is a pretty large song consisting of many parts including drums, vocals, backup vocals, bass, two electric guitars, acoustic guitar, trumpet, and piano. I also finished my mid term project for Hybrid music called “Requiem of Goldblum.” It is a sample based piece in which I recorded quotes from Jeff Goldblum and made some drum beats in a musical style. It turned out well and the class enjoyed it. I will upload it to soundcloud soon.
New Song
Recorded a blueprint for a new song today. The song is called “We are the Day” this one might take awhile to get the right feel for everything in the song.
The Real Power People
The Real Power People animation is up on the video page!!! The animation is a concept for the opening theme song of an animated television show based on a comic series that I wrote. The original comic series was drawn with stick figures and simple shaped characters so I took a lot of time to develop the characters into actual people with real bodies. The total time put into this animation and music not including development of the characters was over 400 hours. Good stuff. Enjoy.
In My Heart Final
Just uploaded a semi final version of In My Heart. I will be submitting it to the ESMP.I probably wont add on to it unless I go into the studio to re-record it or add live drums to the mix instead of midi drums.
ESMP
Just uploaded ‘Wake Up and Smell the Fear’ and am compiling 3-5 tracks to submit to the ESMP album (evergreen student music project). Hopefully one of my tracks will be selected but I am excited to be recording the music for the album next quarter.
Jeff and the Goldblums
So the tribute band for Jeff Goldblum, Jeff and the Goldblums, with which I am a part, just recorded their first hit single called “Must Go Faster.” It turned out pretty well although a tad rough. I will upload the finished version once it is mixed and mastered.
couple new songs
I finished Wake up and Smell the Fear and recorded another song called Above the Fear which I had numerous recordings of before but this one is far superior. Wake up and smell the Fear is very very rough although it does include decent lyrics. I will upload that pretty soon.
new song
Working on a new song called “Wake Up and Smell the Fear” or “Hate of Everything.” Not sure which title to use yet. It’s probably the most difficult song to play so far. I had to lower the tempo because I wasn’t happy with the takes that I was playing at the faster tempo.
college plus new audio
Just started my last year of college. Im taking a class called Hybrid music which is electronic and synthesizer music and advanced audio recording. should be pretty fun. on another note i just uploaded another audio composition. This one is called noise and was created using the arp 2600 and Digital Performer. It has a really cool looking waveform. Its on the audio page.

Decided just to upload the no drums version of Im My Heart now instead of later. Its in the audio section.
In My Heart
Just uploaded the new song “In My Heart.” Its in the audio section. I decided to leave the vocals out because they weren’t powerful enough, but I left the drum track in, which is very rough. I played the drums live using my keyboard as a midi controller. If anything seems off its probably because of the drums i will upload the version without them shortly.
New Song!!!!
began really composing a song thats been in my head for some time now. I have found that in the last couple of days that it has changed a lot from my original conception. Though the chorus is still the same some of the lyrics and the way the vocals go has changed a little. I have spent around 10 hours now on writing and rearranging lyrics and recording trying to get the right feel for the multiple guitars that play. Drums however play a large part in this song as with my other songs. Im not a drummer so i need to find someone who wants to record a drum track else i will have to use midi which will sound bad and this is just a rough cut so it will sound extra bad. But its coming along nicely. The song is called ‘In My Heart’

The Anchorman sound design clip is done and it turned out pretty well. I will upload it soon.
Production almost complete
Production on the Anchorman clip is nearing completion. We’ve begun mixing but still have a couple things more to record. Two more days left and it should be 100% done. I just wish we could have found a whip.
Update
Disregard the last post as our dialogue recordings were lost due to a fluke computer mishap and an improperly remembering to backup our project when we finished. As of now we have more than made up for that and have only one more character’s dialogue to do and a small amount of foley and sound effects to add. The music is nearing completion in its begging stages but there is still some touches to make before it is finished. We recorded a lot of foley today in the sound effects studio and are ready to finish it on Sunday. Tuesday we plan the get the class together to record large group sound, and weapons, ect. Will upload some pics soon.
Dialogue
We recorded about 90% of the dialogue today. It was as fun as it was challenging to get the voices of the characters down. We still need to record Mexican news guy and We are still working on the voices for Ron Burgandy and the Public news guy.
First day of Production
We had the first day of production yesterday and accomplished a lot. We recorded body hits, glass shattering, weapons noises, bike sounds, ect. All around a very productive day. Will upload photos to the production gallery page.
Sound Design part trois
Began preproduction today on the sound design for a scene in the movie Anchorman. We took notes for musical cues and sound effects, as well as foley and planning out who can capture certain field recordings. It should be quite a challenge for the team and I.
Just added two videos to guess which section.
The videos are a short PSA I shot in high school i think around 2002. One of my first videos ever made.we had a lot of problems with the audio for some reason and ended up having to delete it. In the end we overdubbed a song from System of the Down. The moral of the PSA is to not be a bully.
The second video is My first and only paint on glass animation done in 2009. fun stuff.
