I just updated my old youtube channel with a handful of old videos I made before getting into animation; some music videos for friends’ bands, skate videos, and even my first attempt at stop motion. All of these videos are much different than any of my current work, much less pretentious and artsy.

Check them out here: http://www.youtube.com/projectilefilms

A trailer for my 45 minute skate video Raising Hell. I made it when I was 16:

All of my skate parts compiled into one video. The last part even has footage of me when I was 14:

So today I showed the MAS Trailer to mediaworks and 2/3 of Image and Sequnce (Ruth’s prgram) with great applud and excitement. That’s all I had in mind. If anyone would like to show it to other programs or classes or anyone please contact me to get a dvd of the trailer. The trailer is also showing at OFS before each screening! I also noticced we don’t have posters up yet. Did anyone else design a poster? If not, I will give my final design to Tasha or directly to John.

Here’s a design I came out with for the final screening poster. I did this a bit after the poster deadline, so I thought a bunch of people would have submitted posters by then. So I figured people would have already submitted posters that represent the class as a whole, for example; camera, lights, film strips running down the side of the frame, and so on. I decided to design a poster that would give me a good chance to work with a complicated lighting set-up and showcase the constuction work I’ve done thus far since I don’t have any finished shoots done yet. Well its turns out I am the only one that submited a poster design. Though it is not encompassing or representative of the entire class I think its visually interesting and will catch people’s eye. Sally did say it gives off a theme that it takes a lot to make these movies. I showed the poster to Shannon Stewart and Jon Robbins and they both gave me good feedback. I made the font larger and moved it into the picture a bit more, which meant I cropped in on the picture. Shannon also gave me additional info that would be good to include. Jon did say that this is PR and “NOT ART” so you can’t be afraid to plaster the text all over the picture, but I like it the way it is. Though I understand where he is coming from. Jon said they would print 60 posters to put around the school and 60 posters to put around downtown, which they have a person who would do it for us. If you guys are not happy with this one you should submit one that represents the program as a whole and very soon too. I know Ryan was working on one that he should defiantly finish. Jon al0so said that if we want to print multiple posters that we could just split it evenly (2 posters: 30 each, 3 posters 20 each, ect.)

Here’s some pictures docutmenting the lighting set-up used to create the poster. It was horribly complicated and something I wouldn’t use for an actual shot I would animate. Mainly baecause the set was completely surrounded by c stands, gobo arms, flags, and silks so it would make it very diffiuclt to animate.

Thankfully Elliott reminded me, I had almost forgot…

and no I’m not crazy because I talk to Elliott. First of all, Elliott talks TO me… and second of all I’m crazy for tons of other more obvious reasons.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY McKayla, thank you for all the work you have done on Elliott!
