New version of WordPress for 2014

Since the start of Fall quarter we’ve added the following new WordPress plugins to make blogs.evergreen.edu work the way you want it to.

 

  • Avatars – upload you own custom avatar to your profile or blog avatar for your site. Choose a local avatar or use the default Gravatar for your profile picture.
  • Download Monitor – provides an interface for uploading and managing downloadable files (including support for multiple versions), inserting download links into posts, and logging downloads. Particularly useful for protected downloads.
  • Export 2 Excel – convert your WordPress data into native MS Excel formats
  • Features by Woothemes -  features showcase management system
  • Geo-Mashup has been updated to use new Google v3
  • Google Calendar Events - display your Google Calendar as a grid or list on a page, post or widget
  • Link manager – restore external links management for blogrolls (previously available in older versions of WordPress)
  • Menu Exporter – export just the menu from one site to another
  • Simply Instagram – display your latest Instragram photos on your site
  • Site Categories -  all new sites created must now choose a site category. We’ll be using these categories to create a browse-able index of all sites at blogs.evergreen.edu.
  • Slim Jetpack – Some of the features in this plugin package include:
    • Carousel full screen image galleries
    • Contact form
    • Tiled Galleries
    • Custom CSS
    • LaTex for mathematical equations
  • The Events Calendar – events calendar management like none other
  • WD Twitter Feed – Integrate a Twitter Feed Widget to your site’s sidebar
