April 7th , a beautiful day at East Bay Waterfront Park.
During my last field study I discovered that there are so many things going on at my location. Once I just sat there for a few minutes and listened/watched everything became clear. I could hear the excited shrieks of children from the children’s museum across the street. The chirping and singing of birds in the trees behind me. There is an occasional boat or kayaker headed out into the deeper waters. Also the constant sound of people walking and cars driving by me on the streets surrounding. There are a few docks on the opposite side of the inlet. Also many logs sticking out of the water with what appear to be bird houses attached to the tops as well as barnacles and moss all over them. Unfortunately there is also un-beautiful parts of this waterfront. There is a fair amount of garbage on the steep bank as well as garbage floating in the water. Noticeable pollution floats on top of the water. It looks like there was a small oil spill! Which is strange because the last time I was here, the oil wasn’t. Brown/grey sea foam collects around the shore along with dead sea weed floating to the surface.
Very nice detailed description. I have been to this park and it is an awesome area to study. Great work!
Cool contrast between the beautiful parts and not-so-beautiful parts of your area of inquiry
